updated: 8.6.2003
We have added a new dataset to the website. It contains all the data files for every network in one Excel spreadsheet. The new format should elimanate any messy conversions form SCOR format to a more user-friendly spreadsheet structure:
All of our analyses of the four major ecosystems of south Florida are now completed, and most revisions are completed. Nevertheless, please refer to this page on each visit to determine what changes and updates have been added. The first table below lists the recent activity with this site, specifically dates of publication.
These web pages were first established in the summer of 1997. Since that date, the complexity and scope of the entire site has expanded dramatically. In order to make it easier for the user to determine what's available, this page will provide details regarding the latest additions and anticipated dates for future additions. Some of the research detailed within this site has yet to be completed, but about half of the pages will be accessible by the end of July, 1998.
In order to remove confusion that was created by our original presentation in 1997, only the balanced numbers for the trophic networks will be presented as the final computed values. We have endeavored to present as complete a picture of the estimates and calulations underlying these values on each of the compartment pages, but there will be subtle differences between the raw data we manipulated and the final balanced numbers presented.
If you anticipate using a substantial amount of our data, we recommend that you download the appropriate data set, and use the values listed there. While we have striven for perfection in our presentation of the data, we realize that the sheer volume of data entries and number tables almost guarantees that there are isolated errors contained within. If you find any obvious discrepancy, please let us know so we may correct it immediately. Lastly, we again recommend that you use the latest version of Netscape. Only the 4.0 versions of Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer support style sheet formatting, which have been used throughout the construction of this site.
Please address any comments and any problems you might discover to: megno@wam.umd.edu.

The entire site has been renovated. Most materials are now present. A few compartment pages for Florida Bay and mangrove networks will be added over the coming weeks. |
The mangrove bird pages are online today. Look for the reptiles and amphibians pages coming within the next week. |
The mangrove fish pages are online today. The remaining pages will become available over the coming summer. |
The compartment pages for the mangrove macroinvertebrates are now available. The mangrove fish pages will be online later this week. |
It is now possible to download the SCOR formatted data files for each of the completed networks. Additionally, the mangrove data is available in Excel spreadsheet format (version 5.0/95). Each network's data sets can be reached from their respective main title pages. Please refer to the instructions on the pages before you download the data. |
The mangrove pages are now available for your use. Currently, all of the primary data tables are accessible (all pages with file numbers between mngrv000 and mngrv399). However, the individual compartment description pages (mngrv400-494) are currently not ready. They will be put on-line as they are finished, and there status will be updated here. |
The mangrove pages will become available by late May. As was the case with the pages for Florida Bay, the data will be available first, followed by the compartment description pages. |
The cypress pages have been reformatted to incorporate what we feel is a more navigable design. |
The Florida Bay avifauna pages have been added. |

Many of the individual Florida Bay
compartment pages are available. The remainder will become available over
the coming weeks.

Minor corrections were made to the Florda Bay Output tables, and some of the values were deleted or corrected. Approximately ten interactions were corrected, as the vast majority of the links were unaffected by these corrections. |

The Florda Bay Macroinvertebrate Output pages were posted. |

The following Florda
Bay Output pages have been activated. The remaining Output pages should
be published by week's end:

The Florda Bay Biomass and Energy Budget pages are partially available. Biomass, total consumption and respiration values are listed on these pages, and values for production and egestion will be added shortly. These pages, in conjuction with the Iput and Output files will represent the entire balanced data set. |
