In collaboration with Maryland Sea Grant and the Environmental Science Education Partnership,
CBL offers a variety of professional development opportunities for K-12
and informal educators. Programs assist educators in integrating
results of University-based research in environmental and marine
sciences into their existing curricula through fellowships, graduate
courses, workshops, seminars, and educational resource material.
WORKSHOPS & SEMINARS
Environmental Concern & Chesapeake Biological Laboratory present:
WOW! The Wonders of Wetlands
&
POW! The Planning of Wetlands
WOW! introduces you to basic wetland ecology, including soil, water
& plants, as well as wetland functions and values through fun and
interactive activities in lesson plan format. Bring wetlands alive and
into the classroom!
Studies show that habitat programs help boost academic achievement!
POW! takes you through the process of building a schoolyard wetland
from start to finish using 25 exciting student activities in lesson
plan format.
